Huang Yi Qing tops Championships Event Day 1A; chip counts inside; up next Day 1B

Under the spotlight today at APT Taiwan 2019 was the CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT – TWD 6 million (~USD 195,000) guaranteed. This was the tour’s second featured tournament hosted at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. After the scheduled eight rounds of play, Day 1A wrapped up  with 56 entries. 31 survived with Huang Yi Qing setting the bar for the next heat. Qing bagged up 251,100 in chips. 

Also making the cut were APT decorated champions: Chow Cliff (101,700), Graeme Siow (83,100), and Sparrow Park Yu Cheung (55,100).  All surviving players move on to Day 2 taking place on Friday, October 18 at 1pm. They await the results of Championships Event Day 1B happening tomorrow (Thursday, October 17) at 1pm.

Bubble Protection

Bubble Protection is in effect. In the event that a bubble protected player busts on the bubble, that player will receive his/her buy-in back in the form of APT Tournament credits (valid for one year). Since its inception in 2016, several players have been saved from walking away empty-handed. To be eligible, all you need to do is follow the steps below:

  1. Pre-register
  2. Draw for your seat before starting time 
  3. Have your chips put into play on the first deal of Level 1
