ALOK BIREWAR brings India its second series win at the NL Hold’em 2
94 suited up for the No Limit Hold’em 2 event, each one putting up VN₫ 8,800,000 to build a sizable prize pool of VN₫ 729,440,000 (~US$ 31,420). The money flowed on day 1 with Vi Quang Hai picking up the first payout in 16th place. The earlier installment of this event was won by Tan Wah Meng; his attempt at a back to back was denied in 10th place. To wrap up the night, UK’s Stephen Nathan bubbled to the Final 8, missing his chance at the RFID feature table.
Leading in the final 8 players was India’s Alok Birewar, and after five hours of play, he shipped it for his first ever APT win. Birewar became the second player from India to bring home a win following in the footsteps of Main Event champion Shardul Parthasarathi. You can watch the final 8 race via APT YouTube and APT Twitch.
Briefly recapping the action, Tan Luan Le earned his moment up top after railing Kohei Nakai in 8th place. He held on until a big pot between him and Birewar sent India surging. On a board that completed 9♥ 8♥ J♣ J♣ 7♠, Tan folded on a bet by Birewar. He showed K♣ J♥ trips. Although Birewar didn’t show, the stream has him with 10♠ 10♦ straight. From there, Birewar was hard to catch with more added to his stack after cleaning out Anton Widjaya, Ankit Jajodia, and Anthony Abram. Three-handed was tough on Birewar who lost his edge, even dropping to the shortest stack. He recovered after eliminating Ito Akira with A♦ J♠ beating Q♦ 10♥. Heads up lasted a quick 15 minutes with Birewar draining Nguyen Viet Anh into 2nd place.

NGUYEN QUANG HA wins No Limit Hold’em Single Day
The second installment of the No Limit Hold’em Single Day concluded with the final two players agreeing to split the cash down the middle. Chip leader Nguyen Quang Ha was awarded the trophy for his first ever APT win.
The event pulled in 43 entries for a prize pool of VN₫ 291,970,000 (~US$ 12,577). At the fifth hour, Tadafumi Mizoguchi delivered the bubble with A♦ 4♦ outdrawing a player’s J♣ J♥ with an ace on the flop. At three-handed, Mongolian player Dolgorsuren Dorjsuren was drained by the two big stacks for her first ever APT cash.
Heads up opened with Nguyen Quang Ha ahead of Nguyen Van Hoang aka Hoang Nevar which switched when the latter doubled up with pocket Aces over second pair. A few hands later, the stacks balanced out when Nguyen Quang Ha called out Hoang Nevar’s bluff. From there, Ha picked up a couple of small pots then called it quits on an even payout deal. Both players pocketed VN₫ 76,345,000 (~US$ 3,288) each.
