Leading in the crew is Vietnam’s Pham Tien Dung with a massive 76 BB stack, / 3,065,000. He was the only player that crossed the 3M mark and was partly due to cleaning out Dang Dinh Tung aka Tung Red in 10th place. Pham is running red hot this series; he already lifted his first ever APT title with a dramatic finish at the Super High Rollers event.

The next two players down the rung are also from the host country, Nguyen Van Trung and Ngoc Anh Cao. The latter Cao entered Day 3 as chip leader and is also a decorated 2018 APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Championships Event title-holder. To close out Day 3, Ngoc eliminated Singapore’s Norbert Koh in 9th place. He has 1,780,000 (44 BB), which puts him third in the count.

Ngoc Anh Cao – 1,780,000 (44 BB)

Running second rank is Nguyen Van Trung who has yet to win his first ever career title and it may as well be the best one. Nguyen is credited for having won the biggest pot of Day 3, doubling up through Tung Red with pocket Aces. He is also on a rush, having recently placed 3rd at a major event in Hanoi. He enters with 2,125,000 (53 BB)

Nguyen Van Trung – 2,125,000 (53 BB)

Next three down the list all have the same stack of 1,400,000 (35 BB) – Indian players Ashish Munot, Shardul Parthasarathi, and China’s Feng Yu. Of the three, only Munot has had prior APT cashes while the other two are newcomers. The most shocking hand of the day was delivered by Yu at 10-handed when his A A defeated Koh’s A A after four spades were at the runout. Parthasarathi also got very lucky at 10-handed with A-J spiking the ace to survive Terry Nguyen’s pocket Jacks.

Bringing up the rear with stacks in the danger zone are Tien Than Nguyen aka Terry Nguyen 355,000 (8 BB) and Pham Van Tien with 250,000 (6 BB). Nguyen is an APT regular who won the festival’s second installment of the High Rollers Single Day. Nguyen is no stranger to APT final tables. Back in 2019, he placed 4th at the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Main Event and in early 2020, he finished 2nd at the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Championships Event. Despite being short stacked, Nguyen is in familiar territory having been down to 6 BB at Day 1C to reaching the Final 8. For Pham, no matter where he finishes, it is his first ever APT cash and if he reaches minimum 6th place, it will be his largest live score.
