That’s it! After 11 events held throughout the year, the Asian Poker Tour calendar season has come to a close. Thank you to everyone that made 2019 our biggest year yet! We explored new destinations together and solidified existing ones. For the first time, we held our grand finale in Taipei City at partner / host venue Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association from November 28 to December 9.
APT Finale Taiwan drew 460 unique players representing 25 countries. Over 1900 entered our events for a grand overall prize pool of NT$ 38,727,500 (~US$ 1.27 million). 23 players walked away as champions. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the players that attended and of course to the staff of CTP. It was our pleasure to be able to bring to Taiwan our brand of poker once again.
Big applause and congratulations goes out to Main Event champion Zhou Yueyang and Championships Event winner Tobias Peters! They both closed the APT year as our newest major title-holders. Special note, Yueyang was the only player to win a major event and a side event at the series. Congratulations as well to Taiwan’s Chen Chi Jen for his victory at two side events.
