Final qualifying sessions for APT Taichung Championship on, more registrants at onset

TAICHUNG CITY, Taiwan – For Day 1B of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taichung Championship, the registration pace went from yesterday’s diesel start to premium unleaded zoom as a strong turnout in the early goings has now pumped the total entries to 113 barely past the halfway mark with runners for Day 1C expected to put the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) here at full capacity.

Day 1A’s total entries of 125 is expected to be shattered today as the weekend crowd–and those who busted yesterday–will be vying for qualification into the next phase of this NT$1M (US$31,442.00) event that carries a buy-in of only NT$5,000.00 (US$157.00).

Registration will remain open until the end of Level 10 and those still standing will be playing down to 15 players as Day 2 (happening on Sunday, 25th September) will play down to a champion. At 30 minutes per level, but the steady rise in Blinds and Antes still giving players a premium to still be in action until the later rounds, the qualification process could go until the early morning hours just as Day 1A did.

Chiang Wei Chen was Day 1A’s overnight chip-leader amassing 448,000 while Chen Qing Yuan is currently at second with 356,000. Lin Jian Hong is third with 312,000.

Day 1C’s flight commences at 6:30PM (UCT+8).
