Final Day of the APT Kickoff 2016; Julien Tran and SJ Kim win their 2nd Trophy

How quick time flies! We are down to the final day of the Asian Poker Tour Kickoff 2016 here at the APT Poker Room in the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Casino Filipino. Throughout the week we have awarded many victors, some of whom are highly recognized in the APT circuit, and some who are new to the scene.

Yesterday saw the crowning of the first Main Event champion of the APT 2016 year, Thailand’s Thong Botho. It was Botho’s first time to participate in the APT. Botho overcame a field of 134 entries and claimed a massive first place purse of P1,660,000, the main event championship trophy, and the first-ever APT Championship Ring. High Rollers Champion, SJ Kim

There were other trophies awarded later in the evening. The Greed NLH saw 29 entries with Korea’s Soo Jo Kim defeating UK’s Sam Razavi at heads up to claim his second side event trophy. A deal was struck at four-handed giving the 4th place finisher Hyungki Kim P67,600, and the top three, Kim (1st), Razavi (2nd), and Gerard Bringley (3rd)  P90,000 each.

Monster Stack Champion, Julien Tran

The Monster Stack had 52 entries bringing the total prize pool to P1,261,000. Julien Tran from Vietnam went the distance to claim his second trophy of the festival. Tran defeated John Sayo at heads up and won the first place cash prize of P349,300.

Today has two events resuming for its final day, the NLH Freezeout and the High Rollers. The last two side events of the festival is also up and running, the 6 Handed Turbo w/Antes and the Deep Stack Hyper Turbo. We will have those results for you later in the day.
