The heavily populated Vietnamese lineup will see Dang Duy Thanh carrying in the lead. Although this is Dang’s first ever APT featured event final table, he has been solid from the start. He entered Day 2 running second in chips then topped Day 3, delivering the bubble to the Final 8. Finalists Tran Huy Hoang aka Louis Tran, Hoang Thai Son aka Son Hoang, Rijad Hasani, and Dinh Tien Thanh, also had strong Day 2 runs, finishing in the upper 11 of the counts. One player in particular, Son Hoang, has been incredibly impressive at the series having reached four final tables prior to this event. India will try to seize a back to back APT major with Ankit Jajodia holding the flag. Singapore is also represented by Jiang Yongbo who had the hardest climb from just 12 BB entering Day 3. Out of all the finalists, second ranked Nguyen Van Sang aka Hoa Thien was the only player that entered in Day 2. Nguyen is decorated with a couple of APT side event titles but this is his first APT major final table reach. The finalists are all guaranteed VN₫ 227,940,000 (~US$ 9,810) but it’s the highly attractive VN₫ 1,823,500,000 (~US$ 78,500) first prize along with the APT Championships Event Trophy and APT Championship Ring that they’ll all be gunning for.
