The second featured tournament of the Asian Poker Tour was the main course today with the APT Finale Taiwan 2019 – CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT – hosting Day 1A at partner Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. By the close of day, 54 entered, 31 had chips to bag with Eng Loong Choi aka Wilson Choi as chip leader at 218,300.
Choi is a very familiar face in the APT circuit. At the previous series, APT Vietnam, he finished 3rd at the Main Event by avoiding the rail on a whopping 8 successful shoves. Choi is the player to catch up to coming Day 1B.
Among the players joining the leader to the next round were five APT decorated champions: Neil Raine, Punnat Punsri, Guo Dong, Graeme Siow, and the newly crowned Main Event winner Zhou Yueyang.
Day 1B is up next taking place on Friday, December 6 at 1pm. This is the last starting day. Buy-in is NT$ 49,500 (~US$ 1,600). The event guarantees NT$ 6,000,000 (~US$ 196,700).
