The last entry day of APT Vietnam 2019 – CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT – bagged up with 45 players remaining out of the 82 that graced the felt. At the end of the scheduled 8 rounds, the gap between the leader and the chasing pack was quite large. India’s Dhaval Mudgal amassed an enormous 291,200 which was more than enough to secure the overall chip lead entering Day 2.
Finishing in second rank today was USA’s Ruth Graham with 215,400 stacked up. Graham was already well positioned as the largest stack at her table when she picked up another pot by railing a player with pocket aces crushing pocket twos.
Other players at today’s closing lineup were recent Main Event finalists Vincent Chauve, Choi Eng Loong, APT Philippines 2019 Main Event champion Yohn Paredes, multi-APT major title-holder Iori Yogo, High Rollers winner Vincent Li, and Monster Stack 1 winner Stephane Carrier.
All the qualifiers merge with the Day 1A survivors for Day 2 coming Friday, November 15 starting at 1pm. For those that missed the mark, registration is open for one hour in Day 2. With the structure quite deep, there is no reason to sit this one out.
