Day 1a of the Main Event kicks off at 1pm today; Get qualified for Bubble Protection

Three days of Asian Poker Tour Experience Manila 2016 poker action have gone by and now it’s time for the big one! At 1pm today, Day 1A of the Main Event will be underway at the APT Poker Room located in the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino. This is the first of two qualifying day ones with the other held tomorrow. Buy-in is P55,000 with unlimited re-entries until the end of six rounds.

At the start of the year, the APT introduced a couple of new incentives to the Main Event. If you haven’t seen it yet, the champion will receive the gorgeously crested silver-banded APT Championship Ring. Four of these rings have already been awarded with the first one won by Thailand’s Thong Botho in January, the second one to UK’s Alex Ward, then to the first lady champion Korea’s Kim Nayoung, and last month to Korea’s Jeon Seung Soo who claimed his second APT Main Event championship title.

Another perk to get excited about is the addition of the Main Event Bubble Protection. This incentive is definitely your ace in the hole that helps relieve the blues if you bubble at the Main Event. How this works is, if you avail of the Main Event Bubble Protection and you happen to find yourself as the unfortunate bubble player, then you are entitled to one FREE ENTRY SEAT to the next APT Main Event of the same value. To avail of the Bubble Protection, all you need to do is complete these three simple requirements:

  1. Pre-register to the Main Event
  2. Draw for your seat before starting time
  3. Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round number 1

For re-entry players, if you have already met the qualifications for Bubble Protection, you will maintain that status only on a same day re-entry. For re-entry players wanting Bubble Protection on a next day re-entry, you will have to repeat the steps above.

In addition, Main Event players who survive day 1a will be allowed to participate in day 1b, and if it so happens that a player qualifies into day 2 with multiple stacks, then he/she must play the largest stack. The smaller stack will be taken out of play.

Side Events

There is one side event on the roster today, the Open Face Chinese Pineapple Shootout 24 max. Buy-in is P16,500 and it begins at 2pm. There will also be a Last Chance Main Event Mega Satellite at 6pm, buy-in is P5,500.
