Welcome to the Asian Poker Tour Philippines III 2016! Starting today, the highlight event of the series will be under the spotlight at Resorts World Manila with Day 1A of the Main Event kicking off promptly at 1pm. This is the first of two Day one entry flights with the second one happening tomorrow, Sunday, September 18th. Buy-in is USD 1,650.
At the start of the year, the APT introduced some game changing new incentives to the Main Event. The first one is the addition of a special prize, the solid sliver APT Championship Ring. Eight of these exclusive rings have already been awarded with Korea’s Jeon Seung Soo and Japan’s Shinichiro Tone getting banded at the previous installments of this series.
APT Main Event Bubble Protection
Also added, was the APT Main Event Bubble Protection. This is one incentive players should not miss out on as it is a very helpful perk to have during that crucial bubble round. How this works is, the player who finishes in the bubble of the Main Event will receive a consolation prize of one free seat to the next APT Main Event of the same value only if that player is insured with bubble protection. Here are the steps on how to qualify for bubble protection:
- Pre-register
- Draw for your seat before starting time
- Have your chips put into play on the first deal of round number 1
In regards to the mechanics, players who qualify for Bubble Protection will maintain that status on a same day re-entry. Players wanting Bubble Protection on a next day re-entry will have to repeat the steps to qualify.
Deeper Structure
Back in April, a change was made to the Main Event structure just for the series, the starting blinds and the starting stack were raised. As the blinds increased, players were privy to a much deeper structure. Here are the details:
- Starting stack 50,000 in chips
- Starting blinds 100-200
- One hour blind duration
- Late registration and re-entries allowed before the start of round 7
- Day one ends after 8 levels
Last Chance “1 in 5” Main Event Mega Satellite
There will be a Last Chance “1 in 5” Main Event Mega Satellite at 6pm today. Unlike the other mega satellite on the schedule, this one in particular has a higher buy-in of USD 330, which means, one out five players will be awarded a seat to the Main Event. Game time begins at 6pm. For players still looking to get in the highlight event at a lower cost, this may be the ticket.
Main Event schedule
The Main Event will run for a total of five days:
- Day 1A today – Saturday, September 17th
- Day 1B tomorrow – Sunday, September 18th
- Day 2 on Monday, September 19th
- Day 3 on Tuesday, September 20th
- Final 8 on Wednesday, September 21st
We will be posting live updates of the Main Event in the Live Reporting section of the website. Daily highlights can be viewed on the APT YouTube channel.
