Chia Yun Wu bags overall chip lead at Championships Event Day 1B; another 46 advance

APT Finale Taiwan 2019 wrapped up its second starting day of the featured CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT at partner venue Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. This brought in another 78 to action however only 46 survived the eight rounds.

During the last few hands called, the already big stacked Chia Yun Wu slid into the lead by winning a couple of more pots. He closed with 266,700 which was enough to earn the overall chip lead coming Day 2. This is a great start for Chia whose deepest run was a 5th place finish at the APT Taiwan Main Event back in October.

Also making it through were several decorated players including past APT champions: Carlos Chang, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, Soo Jo Kim, and multi-winners Iori Yogo and Yo Hwan Lim.

All the day’s survivors merge with the 31 from Day 1A. That brings the total advancing players to 77. They meet on Saturday, December 7 at 1pm for the next stage of the race. There are currently 132 total entries. With registration open for one final hour in Day 2, the NT$ 6,000,000 guarantee will be more than eclipsed.
