What a wild day it was at Day 2 of the CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT! It was action-packed from the get-go with players in full battle gear. By the end of the scheduled eight rounds, only 24 remained with Philippine player Vamerdino Magsakay as chip leader. This was a very impressive run for Magsakay who is on his maiden visit to Vietnam. He bagged up 718,000.
Trailing very close to the leader was Vietnamese pro Cao Ngoc Anh with 699,000 in chips. Cao Ngoc probably had the most live posts of any player today. He was involved in plenty of big pots, in most cases, initiating the betting. It is safe to say he was the most active player of Day 2. Additionally, Cao Ngoc is a decorated APT champion. He won this exact same event back in July 2018.
And claiming the third highest spot in the chip rung was another Philippine player, Joseph Talamayan. Talamayan entered Day 2 with an overwhelming chip advantage. He took several heavy hits along the way to bring him down to earth. During the last four tables, he found his momentum to bag up 627,000.
