Championships Event Day 2 ends with Jinho Hong leading the final 21 players; bubble approaching

It was a head-cracking day at the APT Taiwan 2019 – Championships Event – with the field trimming down to 21 players at bagging time. Charging up the ranks was a very familiar face, Korea’s Jinho Hong, who finished runner-up at the series Main Event several days prior. The Championships Event kicked off Day 2 at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association with 23 runners signing on during the final hour of registration. This brought the total entries to 144 to surpass the advertised TWD 6 million guarantee and settle at TWD 6,285,600 (~USD 205,400). Only 15 players are due to earn a payout and with 21 surviving today, 6 players will walk away empty at tomorrow’s Day 3. Though it is still two days from crowning, the eventual champion is guaranteed TWD 1,697,300 (~USD 55,400).
