Cards Fly in Cebu Main Event Today

The last time the Asian Poker Tour were in Cebu, Jojo Tech of the Philippines bagged the main event title winning over a field of 207 runners and taking home over PHP 2.3M. Will Tech or any other local use their home-felt advantage again or will an international player rise to the occasion this time around?

The road to the prestigious APT title opens today as Day 1A of the APT Asian Poker Series Cebu 2015 Main Event begins play at 1:00 PM at the All In Poker Club located at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino Lahug in Cebu, Philippines.

Tech, who was also the runner-up in the recent APT Philippines 2015 Main Event, is just one of the many popular pros who are expected to join the main event with many seen hitting the felt already in earlier side events in this APT stop.

Seen at the tables—and cashing already for some— in the side events are Sam Razavi, Iori Yogo, Norbert Koh, Kai Paulsen, Ian Brion, Jay Kyung Sim, Azusa Maeda, Martin Gonzales, Kim Enriquez and Gerrard Bringley, among many others, who are expected to play in the main event.

Cebu City Task Force on Street Children receives PHP 72,500 from the APT Charity event

Meanwhile, the Cebu City Task Force on Street Children, a non-profit organization that provides educational and residential assistance to Cebu City’s street children, was awarded the check for PHP 72,500 on Thursday. The donation was made by APT and the players who participated in the Ante up for Charity event.

Also on tap Friday is new and revised Open Face Chinese (OFC) Pineapple on a shootout format and 36-max entry with PHP 11,000 buy-in at 3:00 PM. Hopefuls who want to take a shot at a seat in the main event will also have the Last Chance Main Event Mega Satellite at 6:00 PM. For complete details, check Event Schedule Page.
