HomeHO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – In what was the longest marathon of the day, local boy Bang Quang Hung outlasts Tommy Ngo in Event #5 – Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) to give the host nation its third victory in the APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2022 competition at the Saigon Poker Club here.
Ten and a half hours after the event started, Bang bested a field composed of 31 entries en route to the title and the VND114,410,000.00 (US$4,920.00) top prize. Ngo got VND70,270,000.00 (US$3,022.00) for his copping second place while another local in Nguyen Le Quang took third place and VND45,620,000.00 (US$1,962.00).
The end came when Bang went all-in on the turn and was called by Ngo with both hitting top pair on a board of Ah4s2d 8s. When the cards were flipped over, Ngo was surprised to see Bang holding AcQd9d2s to his As9h7h3h as Bang hit two pair on the flop. Needing to get any of the over cards in his possession, the Qh sealed the deal for Bang giving him a higher two pair and the win.
