Asian Poker Tour Ready to Rock Macau

Macau, November 5 2010: With an expanded Main Event to include Day 1A on Sunday, November 7, and some of the world’s most decorated Poker players joining Asia’s premier event, the Asian Poker Tour in Macau is ready to rock the City of Dreams from November 6 -14.

The nine-day festival of Poker, which kicks off on Saturday, November 6 with the APT Welcome Event and super satellites, will be staged at the integrated entertainment complex, the City of Dreams.

Super Sunday is on November 7, with the first of three Main Event Day 1s (Day 1B is on November 10, and Day 1C is on November 11). The buy-in for the Main Event is HK$32,000 + HK$2,500. Adding to the spectacular is the Ladies of Poker side event, an all-female tournament which will determine the Queen of Poker. The Sunday trifecta is complete with an evening Main Event Mega Satellite, giving players yet another chance to qualify for the Main Event.

Poker legends Johnny Chan and Phil Ivey, who have 10 and 8 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets respectively, are expected to join the Main Event. While Chinese-American Chan joins the APT Macau for the second-straight year, Ivey will be making his APT Macau debut.

Said APT Chief Executive Officer Mr. Jeff Mann: “We are delighted the APT has a new home at the City of Dreams and Hard Rock, and a new and exciting partner in the Hard Rock Hotel. The rock’n’roll spirit at the City of Dreams complex will add a new edge to the APT Macau tournament, and we believe players will have a lot of fun.”

A host of side events accompanies the Main Event, including the Dafapoker 6-Handed event, PKR Head Hunter, Battle of the Nations, in which Chan is expected to compete, and the High Rollers side event, which was won last year by Hong Kong resident David Steicke. Said Mann: “The Main Event is expected to attract a record number of players from around the world and, with over 10 side events, numerous satellite tournaments and other rock’n’roll festivities, the Asian Poker Tour in Macau is not to be missed. “
