The Asian Poker Tour is thrilled to announce the final leg of the calendar season is set to take place in Taipei, Taiwan. APT Finale Taiwan 2019 will run for twelve days, from November 28 to December 9, at partner / host venue CTP – Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association. This will mark the tour’s third event in the country and the 11th festival of the season.
“Setting our Finale to be in the heart of Taiwan for the first time is something players can get excited about. CTP is a venue that is fully equipped with everything a true poker room needs and it comes with great staff that definitely knows how to take care of the players. The vibrant city of Taipei has so much to offer, so making the decision to bring APT back to CPT for a third time was an easy decision,” said Lloyd Fontillas, APT Executive Tournament Director and General Manager.
Within the past two years, Taiwan has grown to become one of the prime poker destinations in Asia. At the APT’s inaugural visit in February 2019, the festival amassed over USD 2,000,000 in prizes. It set a Main Event record prize pool for the country of TWD 15,219,300 (~USD 480,000) with buy-in at TWD 33,000. Hong Kong’s Cliff Chow pocketed TWD 2,443,800 (~USD 79,000) for his victory. The TWD 49,500 buy-in Championships Event also produced a large prize pool worth TWD 12,571,200 (~USD 400,000). China’s Chen Dong triumphed for a score of TWD 2,995,000 (~USD 93,000).
For the upcoming finale, players can expect to see another full blown schedule with big prizes in tow. Details will be up soon. For now, make sure to lock the dates. Additionally, before the APT hosts its finale in Taiwan, the tour will first return for a twelve-day run on October 9 to 20.
