The inaugural APT Vietnam Phu Quoc is a wrap! In partnership with Pearl Island Poker Tour, the ten-day series took place from April 8 to 17 at Corona Resort & Casino, amassing 1,182 entries and a festival prize pool of VN₫ 14,135,050,000 (~US$ 617,200). Thank you to everyone that came out in support of our first festival on the island!
As announced, we will be returning within the year. While those dates have yet to be determined, our next event is just around the corner. Coming April 27 to May 8 is APT Philippines at partner venue Resorts World Manila. This event falls during Japan’s Golden Week holiday celebration. The Main Event guarantee has been boosted to Php 15 Million. We hope to see you all there!
And now, let us give you the closing highlights of APT Vietnam Phu Quoc and the winners of APT Player of the Series.
Vamerdino Magsakay wins APT Player of the Series
Filipino player Vamerdino Magsakay had an incredible run at the series. He conquered three consecutive Single Day High Roller events, placed 3rd at the Super Deep Stack Turbo, and placed 11th at the two-day High Rollers event to capture the distinguished APT Player of the Series title. For his achievement, Magsakay was awarded the APT Player of the Series Trophy, APT Player of the Series Ring, an exclusive watch, and US$ 800. Congratulations to Magsakay!
Finishing 2nd in the race was Japan’s Satoshi Kuriga who cashed at four events with a triumph at the Head Hunter. In 3rd place was Hong Kong’s Dennis Ng with two cashes and a victory at one of the Deep Stack Turbo events. Both Kuriga and Ng were awarded trophies and US$ 100.
Main Event: HUE DANG – VN₫ 1,220,590,000
Congratulations to Hue Dang for her victory at the Main Event! Dang bested a field of 378 entries to clinch her maiden victory and a hefty VN₫ 1,220,590,000 (~US$ 53,300) payout. She is the second lady to have ever won an APT Main Event. Read up on her win via our Live Updates.
