TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is once again the biggest draw in town as following the 457 entries tallied in the opener, the APT Taichung Championship and 251 in the recently concluded Mystery Bounty, 138 were this time recorded for Day 1A of the Main Event–more than two thirds of the way to smashing the guaranteed prize pool of NT$3M (US$94,626.00) with still two more qualifying sessions to go at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) here.
many aspirants took advantage of the session’s “Early Bird Special” rate wherein NT$500.00 (US$16.00) was knocked off the buy-in–even for re-entries–hence giving those who made the effort to play a great value.
While players were in action in the Main Event, two Side Events entered its final competition day while two more played down to champions.
In (Event #2) the NT$86K (US$2,710.00) Super High-Rollers, 2019 APT Taiwan Main Event winner He Zong Chi emerged victorious and also took down the NT$663,500.00 (US$20,910.00) top prize. This is He’s third title overall in the APT after having also won the APT Mixed event in 2020. Chu Chi Jen finished second for NT$325,900.00 (US$10,270.00) while NT$174,600.00 (US$5,503.00) was paid to Tsai Ting Yi for coming in third.
