In the aftermath, Day 1B attracted the largest field of 178 runners while the evening Turbo Flight drew in 70. Combining those figures with the 142 Day 1A entries, the festival opener brought in 390 total entries to more than obliterate the NT$ 500K guarantee. Remaining players are now looking at a much richer NT$ 1,513,200 (~US$ 54,140) prize pool.
With all the entry heats completed, 40 survivors will return to the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) in Taichung on Sunday, February 21 for their final chase. Everyone is guaranteed a min cash of NT$ 8,000 (~US$ 286) however what they will be eyeing is of course the NT$ 332,200 (~US$ 11,900) first prize. The eventual champion will also receive the APT Champion Ring and the first APT Trophy of the series.

Entering the second day, players had a mountain to climb to reach Day 1A chip leader Huang Zhi Hao who bagged up a massive 985,000 stack. At the end of Day 1B, Yeh Chlln Fu topped the heat with a sizeable 762,000 however it still wasn’t enough to overtake Huang. Then at the Turbo Flight, Wu Ling Wei took on the challenge, and at bagging time, he amassed nearly half of the chips in play. Wu closed with a towering 1,008,000 stack (126 bb) to seize the overall chip lead entering the final day.
