TAICHUNG CITY, Taiwan – A mere four days after the smoke cleared in the competition during the recently concluded Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines, the first of 22 events officially kicks off as the Taiwan series begins with the opening APT Taichung Championship carrying a guaranteed prize pool of NT$1M (US$31,552.00) at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) here.
Day 1A will have cards in the air at 6:00pm (UCT+8), while Day 1B and 1C will play out tomorrow at 1:00PM and 6:30PM, respectively. Day 2 is on Sunday and will play down to a champion.
With the buy-in set at NT$5,000.00 (US$158.00), a throng of the nation’s poker aficionados are expected to take part in this 3-day event before the scene shifts to the capital city of Taipei this coming Tuesday.
Local sensation Ping Hao Huang emerged victorious when the Championship was last contested in 2021, capping his incredible run that included five cashes and two runner-up finishes.
On 27th September (after a one day break), CTP Taipei will host the proceedings until its conclusion, from (Event #1) the NT$1M GTD Mystery Bounty to the last High-Rollers (Event #20) and everything in between; including the Main Event wherein WSOP Circuit Bracelet holder Hui Chen Kuo–better known as Kitty Kuo–is expected to defend the crown she took down last year. Four satellites are scheduled for the NT$16,500.00 (US$521.00) buy-in event. The Main Event has a NT$3M (US$94,687.00) guaranteed prize pool.
