TAICHUNG CITY, Taiwan – The runners who qualified via Day 1C had barely eight hours to rest and gear up for the finale of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taichung Championship as now this final day plays down to a champion as action resumes here at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club).
What is certain is that a new champion will be crowned as current titlist Ping Hao Huang is not among the 51 who advanced and now have a share of the over NT$1.6M (US$52,092.00) prize pool with everyone at this point already guaranteed NT$8,700.00 (US$274.00). The buy-in was NT$5,000.00 (US$157.00).
Heading into the finale, Belgium’s Kristof Segers leads the aspirants with 706,000 in chips while local bets Deug Deug Kai (682,000) and Chiang Wei Chen (448,000) will be in serious pursuit.
Whoever triumphs will also be NT$318,500.00 (US$10,014.00) richer and will go d
own in history as the first to be crowned in this series here in Taiwan.
