The Asian Poker Tour is back in the Philippines with APT Manila 2017 kicking off at 1pm today! This nine-day event will run from November 6 – 14 at the luxurious five-star rated Winford Hotel and Casino, home of the APT Poker Room Manila.
For today’s lineup, the festival opens with the Main Event Warm Up. This is a scheduled two-day event with an PHP11,000 entry fee. Out of all the events in the APT schedule, the Warm Up is the one event that preps you up for the upcoming Main Event. It offers the same structure with blinds increasing at half pace of 30 minutes instead of 60 minutes. Details below:
Event Details
Starting stack: 50,000
Opening blinds: 100-200
Late registration / re-entry: closes at the start of round 7
Day 1: ends after round 16
At 7pm, we bring you the second side event of the festival, the Ante Up for Charity. This special event is in benefit of the Children of Marawi whose lives were placed in jeopardy during the five-month long urban battle. With the crisis now won by the Philippine government, the next step is the long road towards rehabilitation. Your generous donation will aid in helping rebuild a future and a safe environment for the children affected. Make your money count, play poker for a cause. Buy-in to this event is PHP3,000. A third of the prize pool will be donated to Save the Children Organization.
In addition to the two side events, we will also run the first of four satellites to the Main Event. Buy-in is PHP4,400 with one seat awarded per ten players. There are many cases where satellite winners have gone on to reach the final table. One player even went as deep as 2nd place. So if you can’t afford to buy into the main directly, then this is the route to take and step up. You might just take down the big one at a very low cost.
As for the days to follow, the APT Manila 2017 has plenty in store with a total of 17 side events with buy-ins ranging from PHP3,000 – PHP16,500 plus a High Rollers event at PHP64,500. For Pot Limit Omaha lovers, a new event has been added to the roster, the PLO Hi – Lo Split (Event 5).
All those of course are shadowed by the APT’s featured tournament, the PHP38,500 No Limit Hold’em Main Event. The Main Event offers the best structure in the region with a deep stack and slow increasing blinds. This is also the only event where one can win the exclusive APT Championship Ring. The Main Event runs from November 9 – 14 with two Day 1s, Day 2, Day 3, and Final 8.
In addition to all the trophy events and satellites, we will have Sit n Gos on Demand for No Limit Hold’em and for OFC Pineapple (new addition). These are freezeout games.
Last stop to qualify in the APT Game of Champions
We’d like to remind everyone that the APT Manila 2017 is the last stop to qualify into the upcoming Game of Champions. The GOC is the APT’s newest player incentive that was introduced at the start of the year. This is one event you most certainly do not want to miss as the APT will add USD10,000 to the pot.
In order to qualify, players must win any of the trophy-bearing events in 2017 or win top three of any APT Player of the Series. For those that have already qualified, make sure to continue to qualify as many times as you can because the higher the number of qualifications accrued, the bigger your starting stack will be at game time. Let’s get the games going! Welcome to the APT Manila 2017 and good luck at the tables!
Winford Hotel & Casino
For those that haven’t been to the Winford Hotel & Casino, it is one of the most luxurious five-star rated venues situated in the Greater Chinatown area of Metro Manila. The Winford officially opened in April this year offering casino table games, off-track betting, and sabong (cock-fighting). The facility is equipped with several restaurants including the most famous Choi Garden Fine Dining.
The Winford also has a fitness area, the Hippodrome bar with concerts performed by well-known local artists, a heated pool, and SM Kenko- a highly rated Japanese spa.
If you are looking to check out the sights, the heart of Manila is the place to take a stroll with history at your footsteps. Enjoy places such as Rizal Park, Intramuros, Fort Santiago, and catch the sunset by the Manila Bay. For nighttime go-ers or just looking for great places to eat, head to Malate. At one time, this was the artists hub and while it has undergone many changes, it has never lost its charm. Malate is only a 15-20 min taxi ride from the venue.
Hotel Accommodations
For those needing accommodations, the Winford hotel has rooms at highly affordable rates. Rooms vary in prices. All are equipped with WIFI. Discounted rates are available at the Winford and at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel. Special APT Player Only rates are available through our official partner PokerTourBookings.com.
