Total entries: 515 entries
At the end of the heat’s scheduled eight rounds, only 66 players remained. Bringing his stack to the top was Korea’s Sim Jae Kyung aka Simba with 522k bagged. Simba was the only player to amass over half a million in chips.
The pot that sent Simba’s stack soaring was a three-way showdown that shaved off a chunk from Seina Asigiri and sent fellow countryman Jeonggy Cho out of contention. You can read up on the details here. On a raised pot preflop, heavy betting followed at the flop K♠ 6♠ 5♥ leading to all three players pushing their stacks out front. Asigiri 5♣ 6♣ two pair, Cho A♥ A♦, Simba A♠ 5♠ nut flush draw. The turn 3♠ immediately granted the flush and with the river 4♠ he tripled up.
