Good morning players and welcome to another Asian Poker Tour festival! Starting today is APT Korea Incheon 2019 taking place at the luxurious Paradise City Casino, the largest casino in Korea. It is located within minutes from the world renowned Incheon International Airport. This is our third visit to Incheon and we are extremely thrilled to be back. So get ready for some nonstop poker festivities, we’ve got plenty lined up.
For the next twelve days, running from August 2 to 13, 24 exciting games fill the roster along with KRW 400 Million in guaranteed prizes. Our top attractions are the Main Event with buy-in at KRW 1,320,000 and Championships Event with buy-in at KRW 1,980,000. Each of these events come with a KRW 200 Million guarantee. As for our side events, buy-ins range from KRW 220,000 to KRW 5,300,000. All are trophy events.
For those new to the APT, starting last year we switched to the “ANTE BB” format for all our games. Then two stops prior, we added the “SHOT CLOCK” to all our events. Info on this can be found in page 4 of the festival booklet.
Opening games
Kicking off the series is the first of two Monster Stack events and the first of seven High Rollers events. These games are perfect to warm you up before the Main Event hits the floor in two days time. Both of these events are scheduled to run for two days.
13:00: Monster Stack 1 – KRW 550,000 buyin
15:00: High Rollers 1 – KRW 3,200,000 buyin
On the following day, Saturday, August 3, the Dafabet Head Hunter event takes control. Buy-in is KRW 550,000. This is one of our most popular side events and it comes with an immediate incentive. For every player you eliminate, you receive a KRW 100,000 bounty reward.
Featured events
After two days of opening warm up games, we bring you our most highly revered tournaments: the Main Event and the Championships Event. If you haven’t experienced any one of these then make it your top priority because these are the events to conquer. Last year saw Japanese pro Iori Yogo ship the Main Event for USD 36,000 and USA’s Geoffrey Jaepil You capture his first-ever major title at the Championships Event for USD 44,000.
The featured events each come with a KRW 200 Million (~USD 170,000) guarantee. They are recognised as having the best structures in the region.
