Good morning everyone and welcome to the Asian Poker Tour’s ultimate festival of the season, the APT Finale Macau Championships 2017! We have plenty in store for you for the next twelve days with the festival running from November 29th – December 10th at our partner and host venue, Macau Billionaire Poker at the Babylon Casino. So suit up! The tables are about to sizzle with all of the exciting events we have lined up.

Today’s events

Today is opening day and with that, we jump right into action with two Special Events and the first of our 17 highly crafted side events. Blasting the doors wide open at 1pm is the much-awaited APT event of the year, the APT Game of Champions. This will be followed by the Super High Rollers event at 3pm, and the Ante Up for Charity at 4pm.

APT Game of Champions
Throughout the 2017 calendar year, players on the APT circuit have been vying for a spot into the exclusive APT GOC event where only trophy winners of 2017, the APT Player of the Year 2016 champion, and APT Regional POY 2016 winners are eligible to participate. After the recent festival in Manila, the final roster closed at 151 qualified players. For these lucky qualifiers, they now have the chance to prove their might against fellow champions by battling it out for the champion of champions’ ultimate bragging title.

This invitational APT GOC event is a two-day No Limit Hold’em Freezeout Tournament with a buy-in of HKD 4,400. Players are allowed a one-time optional add-on of HKD 1,500. In addition to the prize pool, the APT has sweetened the pie with USD 10,000 added! However, this cush incentive will only be awarded to the top three finishers broken down as 50% – 30% – 20%.

For first time qualifiers, you will receive a 25,000 starting stack; for those that have qualified more than once, it’s Christmas! On top of the 25,000 starting stack, you will receive 5,000 more for each additional time you’ve qualified. Among all the qualifiers, Japanese pro Tetsuya Tsuchikawa has the highest number of qualifications and will strut in with a roaring 70,000 stack. List of Qualifiers

Super High Rollers
The Super High Rollers is the next Special Event on the floor today with cards in the air at 3pm. For several years, this type of event has been in demand, attracting a tight field of elite players preferring to play for very large stakes. The Super High Rollers event has a HKD 200,000 buy-in and it is open to anyone willing to pony it up and wager against some of the heaviest hitters in today’s game. This is a schedule two-day event.

Ante Up for Charity
The Ante Up for Charity event completes our three events of the day. It is also the first side event of the festival. Through the years, the APT has consistently held a charity event at every destination to help the local community. This event will be for the benefit of the Holy House of Mercy.

The Holy House of Mercy charity organization offers a wide range of social welfare services, among them include assisting the elderly, rehabilitation centers for the blind, creating refuges for the homeless, providing education to orphaned children, and much more. We encourage everyone to join and support the ongoing efforts of this charitable organization.  Come and play poker for a great cause. For every HKD 1,500 buy-in, a third will be donated. Event starts at 4pm.
