APT Asian Series Opens in Style in Cebu

The first installment of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Asian Series got underway earlier today at the All In Sports Club at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines. And if the number of players who signed up for the first side event was any indication, the newest poker series in Asia is off to a roaring start.

Day 1A of the 5th Cebu Open 1M Guaranteed, one of the seven side events in the APT Asian Series Cebu, attracted a total of 111 runners to kick off the 8-day festival of poker from January 10 to 18, 2011. Notable players present today were Mark Pagsuyuin, Tony Abesamis, Martin Corpuz and Sparrow Cheung Park Yu.

Present in the opening ceremonies were Mr. Enrile Esguerra, Casino Shift Manager from PAGCOR Casino Filipino-Cebu; Mr. Carlo Seinz, Resident Manager of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel; Mr. Mario So, Chief Executive Officer of the All In Poker Club and Mr. Jeff Mann, Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Poker Tour.
