PASAY CITY, Philippines – In what promises to be the busiest day of this leg’s opening week, The Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines Main Event begins its first of three Day 1 sessions even as the Professional Offline Poker League (POPL) Head-Hunter Final 8 and the resumption of the PhP215,000.00 (US$3,760.00) VIP High-Rollers get underway at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.
The Main Event carries a PhP15M (US$262,275.00) guarantee.
In the POPL Head-Hunter, local bet Royly “Chipblaze” Oracion paces the Final Table with 234,000 in chips followed by fellow Filipino Jose Colada with 188,000 while international tournament grinder Martijn Gerrits of the Netherlands enters at the third with 185,000.
The Final 8 is now guaranteed PhP49,800.00 (US$871.00) while the champion pockets PhP399,000.00 (US$6,982.00).
The VIP Head-Hunter event still has registration open for one level today and has nine players currently in contention.
Later today, Event #4–the 2-Day Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) tourney and the first of three Single-Day High-Rollers takes place as this venue is looking to be bustling this afternoon.
