An international Final 7! Lim Yohwan leads for the third day in a row

We have reached the final table of the APT Philippines Championships Event II 2018 – CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENT! Once again it was Korea’s Lim Yohwan in the driver’s seat having impressively dominated in Day 3. Yohwan delivered not one but two double knockouts to close with a massive 2,626,000 stack.

Double KO #1: Terence Kwang and Walken Li
Double KO #2: Sun Tan and Bobby Zhang

Only once throughout the day was Yohwan behind in the count. Germany’s Steffen Endres was also the bane of several players including big stacks Marc Rivera and Feng Zhao. Both players were railed simultaneously to bring the field down to the unofficial final table of nine. Endres’s stack catapulted to the top to briefly usurp the lead. He bagged up the second largest stack of 2,265,000.

Finishing third-in-chips was Korea’s Jae Hyun Lim. Lim also bagged up in the million range but it wasn’t devoid of scares. His stack swung wildly and upon eliminating German pro Marvin Rettenmaier and scoring a big pot off Endres with aces, he charged back up to seven digits to close with 1,450,000.

The rest of the pack are below the average stack of 1,242,857 with 8,700,000 total chips in play.

Guam’s Joshua Chargualaf  steadily rose all day, grinding for chips among the hungry pack of aggressive players. He bagged up 857,000.

From the get-go, Singapore’s Si Yang Phua was on attack mode often seen beefing up the pot. His stack rose fast but it also dipped heavily. He closed with 782,000.

The last local hope is Richard Marquez. He bagged up 557,000.

Japan’s Masatoshi Tanaka will have his work cut out on the final day with his stack at 165,000, roughly 7 big blinds.

Marquez and Tanaka struggled with their short stacks practically the whole day but managed to stay in contention as double knockouts were quite popular with the leaders.

Congratulations to all the final tableists!
