The Asian Poker Tour and its partners, the Poker King Cup and SJM, officially opened the APT Macau 2016 festivities with a special celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony at the Crystal Palace of the famous Casino Lisboa. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the APT in the gambling mecca of Asia with intentions of many more to come. APT CEO, Mr. Jeff Mann, opened with a welcoming speech,
“As many of you know we were last here in 2013, very successful event, and we’ve been trying to get back to Macau for the last two years but unsuccessful simply because we didn’t have the right partners here in Macau. We’ve been very fortunate this year to be associated with two very supportive and very inventive partners and we are very grateful to be able to come here.”
Also expressing his enthusiasm for this new venture was Director of Casino Lisboa, Mr. Steve Kok,
“We are extremely excited to be hosting this event today. With our poker adviser, Poker King Cup, a poker tournament of this caliber is a new venture for our team… . They are the now of poker with new ideas to add to the current landscape. We are very excited to work alongside with them. And this is only the first of many to come.”
Instrumental in making this moment come together was the President of the Poker King Cup, Mr. Winfred Yu. This event marks the second time the APT and the PKC have partnered up this year with the first one held just a few weeks ago, the APT Cruise 2016. Yu shared his thoughts on this much-awaited event,
“APT Macau 2016 is a very special tournament for PKC because everybody knows, we started off our first tournament in cooperation with the APT in 2013 and we have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time to be alongside with them again. We finally did it with Mr. Kok and the support of Lisboa, and my boss Suncity….”
