Yesterday, the NLH Single Day 1 event drew 121 entries at PHP 16,500 (~USD 320) each for a prize pool of PHP 1,760,500 (~USD 33,800). Yonjae Chung delivered the bubble with 9♣ 9♠ holding strong against a player’s A♥ J♥ overcards with the board running 10♥ 2♥ 6♠ 2♠ 8♠.

Once the money flowed, the final 21 players hunted down the trophy. In the end, the battle for the title came down to Vietnam’s Linh Nguyen and Kosuke Tajima. Nguyen held the chip lead at the start, Kosuke stole it, then Nguyen regained it on a huge double up that crippled Kosuke to 6 bbs.
The hand saw a board 3♥ 7♣ 6♣ K♦ 4♦; Nguyen check-called the flop and turn then jammed on the river. She had A♣ 5♣ straight and Kosuke K♠ 6♦ two pair. Three hands later it was all over. Nguyen A♣ 8♣, Kosuke K♠ 2♣, no help on the board for Kosuke and a very happy Nguyen shipped it along with PHP 432,000.
