HomeThe Asian Poker Tour will see the return of the 77 players who survived the Main Event starting flights of the APT Poker Weekend Series Manila 2016 these past two days at the APT Poker Room in the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel & Casino.
There were a total of 216 entries at the Main Event for a total prize pool of PhP5,238,000. Today will likely see the bubble burst with 27 players making it into the money. The first place cash prize is a whopping Php1,310,000. Out of the crew, there were 57 players who availed of the Main Event Bubble Protection but only 19 of them will be returning.
Returning to the felt as the overall chip leader is Malaysia’s Jin Yong who accumulated 139,700 chips at Day 1b. Coming in the second spot is UK’s Daniel Furnival with 135,400 chips, and rounding out the top three is Vietnam’s Julien Tran with 130,100 chips. Joining the leaders are some APT regulars and well known pros including seven previous APT Main Event champions. While that is running, there will be two side events running as well. The Monster Stack NLH Day 1 kicks off at 130pm. This event has an entry fee of PhP22,000. Players will start with a very healthy deep stack of 30,000 chips. At 6pm we will have the MSW Deep Stack Turbo with an entry fee of PhP5,500.
NLH 2 Champion, Sam Razavi
Yesterday saw the rise of two players into the winners group. At the No Limit Holdem 2 event, UK’s Samad Razavi defeated a field of 23 entries to claim the first place purse of PhP191,800. At three-handed, Razavi eliminated Japan’s Ikko Takahara with his nut flush and faced Korea’s Kim Hak Do at the heads up round with a big 4:1 chip advantage. It only took one hand for Razavi to claim the trophy with his 5♣ 5♥ winning the coin flip against A♠ K♥. If you want to watch the action of this event, the final 8 players were moved to the RFID feature table and it will be in the APT YouTube channel by tomorrow.
WLS Deep Stack Turbo, Raniel Galvez
Due to the big turnout of the Main Event, the WeLoveSport Deep Stack Turbo started an hour later with 73 total entries. The prize pool grew to PhP354,000. The tournament ran well past the midnight hour with Philippines’ Raniel Galvez outlasting them all to earn the first place purse of PhP98,100.
