Up on the plate, we have a slew of side events running all day – the Monster Stack at 2pm, the High Rollers at 3pm, and the Deeps Stack Turbo at 6pm. Getting on the felt first though is Day 3 of the Main Event with 22 players racing for a Final 8 berth.
Yesterday, Day 2 closed before the money of 18 places was reached which means today the bubble will burst and the cash will start to flow. Entering the day as the most dominant force is Korea’s Gyeong Byeong Lee with a massive 748,000 in chips. To give you an idea how big that is, the average stack is 300K and blinds will begin at Level 17: 4000-8000 ante 1000. Lee has 93.5 times the big blind.
Korea’s Soo Jo Kim comes in second-in-command with a large stack as well of 658,000. Lee and Kim are APT Main Event champions; there are a total of five champions in the field today.
The Main Event kicked off three days ago turning up 182 total entries. At USD 1,650 each, the prize pool came to USD 192,060. The first player paid will receive USD 3,550 while the eventual winner will take home the USD 49,070 first place purse.

Filipino Rogel Del Rosario wins the Pot Limit Omaha Hi

The Pot Limit Omaha Hi event was the only non-Texas Hold’em game offered in the schedule. This event attracted 41 to the felt for a prize pool of USD 11,930. By the time it reached the final five players, they were moved to the feature table and you can watch that final action to the trophy in the APT Twitch channel and APT YouTube station.
For a brief recap, Jiwoon Kim took 5th, Dhanesh Chainani finished 4th, and Jared Skinner ended 3rd. This set up a heads up match between Filipino player Rogel Del Rosario and Australia’s Anthony Abram. Both players had roughly the same stacks so they opted to make a deal guaranteeing each USD 3500 plus an additional USD 750 and the trophy to the champion.
The game resumed and quickly Del Rosario took charge winning a few meaty pots. Abram answered back with a double up holding a flush with J♠ 9♠ on a board of 5♠ J♣ 8♣ 3♠ Q♠. Several hands later, the lead switched again with Del Rosario spiking a lucky set. On a flop of K♣ J♦ Q♠ Del Rosario was all in with 4-J-4-6 and Abram with A-A-9-2. The turn landed 4♥ and with the river 5♣, Del Rosario doubled up and was now up 2:1.
But once again his lead didn’t last. Abram grinded and overtook. From there, the chip lead swung back and forth repeatedly.
After a total of 12 hours of play, the winner emerged with Del Rosario winning with his K♣ J♣ 9♣ 7♦ against Abram’s K♥ 8♣ 6♣ 4♦ on a board of K♠ 8♥ J♦ 10♣ A♥. The all ins were at the flop. Del Rosario had Abram slightly covered in chips. He claimed the USD 4,250 first prize and the event trophy.
Vietnam’s Hai Nhu Le wins the MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo

In a final table dominated by local players 6 out of 10, it was still not their flag to wave at the MegaSportsWorld Deep Stack Turbo. Instead, it was the Vietnamese flag that ruled overall. Representing was Hai Nhu Le who entered the three-handed round with a big lead over Filipino players Jerick Medina and David Erquiaga. Medina fell in 3rd place to Erquiaga who in turn was railed by Le to earn the title. The final hand saw Le with K♦ Q♦ over Q♣ 4♣ on a board that ran 4♦ 6♦ 10♦ A♣ 6♦. Le won with a flush. He earned the USD 3,250 first place purse and captured his first-ever APT trophy.
