We are back for another festive day of nonstop poker action at the Asian Poker Tour Experience Manila 2016 held at the APT Poker Room located inside the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino. Today will see three side events on deck namely, the Pot Limit Omaha High Rollers, the Battle of the Nations, and the Ante Up for Charity event.
Before those events heat up the felt, kicking off the action is the final day of the P1M Guaranteed Welcome Event that took off yesterday with 230 entries. Today will see 53 players returning at 1pm for their final battle to the finish. Only the top 27 finishers will be seeing the money, which means almost half of the field will walk away empty-handed. For the eventual winner, he will be looking at a sweet payout of P335,000, taking a large chunk out of the P1,338,600 prize pool. Entering the day as the overall chip leader is Korea’s Jae Wook Shin with 184,800 chips. Shin accumulated his stack at Flight A. Running second is Jeorge Lagatuz with 157,500 chips, he was the leader at Flight B. In third is another Filipino player, Aristotle Sigua with 149,000 chips. At 2pm, the cards will be flying for the PLO High Rollers event. This is the first of two PLO events in the APT Experience Manila 2016 lineup. Entry fee for this event is P55,000 and is scheduled to run for two days. An hour later, at 3pm, the Battle of the Nations event is up at bat with a buy-in of P17,600 per team. Then at 7pm is the Ante Up for Charity event for Feed a Child, Build a Nation, a Program by the Rotary Club Makati North. Buy-in for this event is P7,500, and one-third of the total prize pool will be donated to the charity organization.
With the Main Event only two days away, if you don’t have a seat yet, there is still time to try and win one. At 6pm, there will be a Main Event Mega Satellite. Buy-in is P5,500. For every ten players, one Main Event seat worth P55,000 will be awarded.
