HomeFull house at APT Philippines Championships II 2018 with 319 entries flooding the tables of the APT-RWM Opening Event at Resorts World Manila. With every entry at PHP11,000, this easily toppled the advertised 2M guarantee and in its place a much fatter PHP3,094,300 prize pool.
This was an excellent start for the twelve day series with players hailing from all over the world getting an early jump at the races. By the end of the combined flights, the field was cut significantly with only 82 players remaining. Local player Moses Saquing closed as the overall chip leader. Here are the top 5 players:

CoinPoker Super High Rollers
The CoinPoker Super High Rollers event got underway with 10 entries – 7 players, 3 re-entries – each one ponying up the hefty PHP500K buy-in. This generated a meaty pot of PHP4,845,700 of which two players will eventually earn a cut. Although we won’t see the final results until tomorrow, here are the ultimate payouts: 1st place PHP3,392,000 and 2nd place PHp1,453,700.
The seven high stakes warriors were: APT Main Event defending champion Lester Edoc, Marc Rivera, Andrew Nguyen, Satoshi Ikeda, Kota Nakano, Kirk Steele, and two-time APT Main Event champion / WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama.

For Takayama, despite firing two bullets, he still had no success. Same as well for the other two re-entries, Nguyen and Ikeda. On the flip side, Steele rose from a very short stack to the chip lead during the final three rounds. Four players bagged up.

Sit N’ Go: Open Face Chinese Pineapple winners
Throughout the 12-day series, players can sign up to SNG No Limit Hold’em and SNG Open Face Chinese Pineapple. On Friday, September 14, both above-mentioned events will return for its final day while another set of events will join on the floor.
2:00PM: Head Hunter PHP4,000/Bounty – Buy-in: PHP17,600
5:00PM: Ante Up for Charity – Buy-in: PHP7,500
6:00PM: Main Event Satellite – Buy-in: PHP6,000 (one seat awarded per 10 players)
The Head Hunter event is a highly popular tournament. It is usually action-packed from the start with players gunning hard for the bounty reward. For every player you eliminate, you instantly collect a PHP4,000 reward. Ultimately, this could potentially be one very profitable tournament.
A few hours after we have the Ante Up for Charity event. This event is in benefit of the RCMN Feed a Child, Build a Nation Feeding Program. The APT has been donating to this program since 2012. We encourage everyone to join in for this wonderful cause. A third of the prize pool will be donated to help feed the children at the F.Benitez Elementary School in Makati, Philippines.
