The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is pleased to announce that the upcoming PHP 50,000 buy-in APT Asian Series Manila Main Event on August 20, 2011 at Resorts World Manila will now offer players a re-entry option, giving those who are eliminated from Day 1A another chance to play for the coveted title in Day 1B.
This is the first time this option is being offered by the APT, although it’s already a common feature in the poker landscape in Macau, Europe and the US. The change in format from the inaugural APT Asian Series Main Event in Cebu has been undertaken as a response to player requests.
APT Chief Executive Officer Jeff Mann commented, “At our last APT Asian Series in Cebu we saw a mix of regional, international and local players, and many of those players came up to me personally and suggested the re-entry format. After countless meetings with my tournament staff, we’ve concluded there are nothing but positives across the board in offering re-entries.”
Almost any poker player out there would have indeed felt to sting of travelling a long way to a poker tournament only to end up having their Aces cracked early or come out on the wrong side of an unavoidable car crash hand during the first few blind levels. Whatever the circumstances, an early Main Event exit can certainly be frustrating and is avoidable with re-entries made available.
APT Tournament Director Lloyd Fontillas adds, “We will still offer exactly the same great blind structure, deep starting stack and end times just like we did in the past. The only difference in adding re-entries is that there will be more money up for grabs and the players opting to play Day 1A will truly have a second chance at the APT Asian Series Main Event title.”
