Race to the Championships Event Final 8; MSW 500K Guaranteed and Monster Stack; Katsuhiro Mori wins WeLoveSport.com

We are at the penultimate day of the APT Philippines Championships 2018 at Resorts World Manila with more awesome poker games lined up for you. Opening up the day is the return of 17 players of the Championships Event. They will race for a spot in the Final 8 so it could be a short day for those players.

Coming in at the helm with his monstrous stack is Filipino pro Lester Edoc. Days ago, Edoc championed the Main Event, besting a field of 325 entries. Impressively, he is entering today’s round at the top with 1,162,000. Running second, though not in the range of the leader but high up there as well, is Kosei Ichinose with 723,000. In third rank also packed with a very big stack is Fu Bang Huang with 668,000. We will have live updates for you so you can keep track of the game wherever you are.

Players begin at Level 17, blinds at 4000-8000 ante 1000. Average stack is 294,118. Total chips in play is 5,000,000. The money starts flowing with the lowest payout at Php188,200.

The Championships Event drew in 100 entries at Php110,000 buy-in for a prize pool of Php9,700,000. Although we won’t reach the finish line today, the eventual winner will take home Php2,402,500 and the APT Championship Ring.

Side Events today: Monster Stack and MegaSportsWorld 500K Guaranteed

The Monster Stack is the first of the side events lined up today. It is one of the more popular events enjoyed by players. As the name states, it starts you off with a very deep stack giving players plenty of maneuverability in the early stages. Keep in mind, this is a scheduled two-day event. Buy-in is Php27,500. Cards in the air at 3pm.

At 6pm is the MegaSportsWorld 500K Guaranteed. This is the last of the series events that offers a guaranteed prize pool. Action is usually fast paced, especially since it is a Deep Stack Turbo event. Famous local football player / MSW Poker Ambassador Anton Del Rosario will be at the felt and likely pumped up to try take this one down. So crack your knuckles and come on over. Bring on those poker moves and give him a good challenge.

There is one other event joining as well on the floor, the Pot Limit Omaha Hi event. This event paused at the Final 8 last night. Today, they will return and will be on the RFID table starting at 1pm. So be on the lookout for that on the APT Twitch or APT YouTube channels.
