In celebration of the the opening of the APT Poker Room Manila at the Manila Pavilion Hotel, the highly recognized poker tour brand opened its doors with the APT Poker Room Manila Inaugural Tournament.
With a very attractive buy in of PHP1,500 which allows re-entries, and a guaranteed pot of PHP200,000 plus PHP240,000 in added value prizes, it was no surprise to see a lot of people for Day 1A all lined up at registration, eager to be the first at the felt. By the end of the third level, there were well over 100 players already battling it out with some falling early but happily returning with a brand new re-entry stack.
Having a chat with the APT Poker Room Manila Operations Manager Raymund Gamier regarding the big prize pool and the low buy in, Gamier said, “We are trying to reach out to players who want to play the higher buy in APT events but find it too costly, so this tournament, as with other future events we will be having here, is aimed at feeding the big APT events through numerous satellites.”
With late registration still available until the start of Level 7 6, some notables such as reigning APT Player of the Year Samad Razavi hit the felt early, Local pros like Christopher Runas, Martin Gonzales, Ian Brion, Jojo Allado, and Richard Marquez were also seen making waves at their respective tables while current APT POY standings leader Lester Edoc made his way right after the first break of the day. For those unable to make it today, not to fret, Day 1B will start at 4pm tomorrow.
Alongside the APT Poker Room Manila Inaugural Tournament, the APT Poker Room Manila is open and welcome for cash games with stakes starting at 10/20.
