With the board already showing K♥ K♦ 4♥ 10♥ a player from UTG was staring down Michael Cua– the APT Philippines 2010 champion and fired a bet of 1,500. Cua cooly made the call.
The river J♣ arrived and the UTG player checked his option. Cua considered his action and spent some time in the tank before putting in a bet of 1,500.
The Chinese opponent made the call and was shown Cua’s K♣ Q♠. The opponent mucked his hand and said, I hade Aces.” Truth or not, what is known is that Cua won this pot and jumps up to roughly 24,500.
A healthy pot was brewing preflop after UTG player opened the betting at 350 and found a bunch of callers. The last one at the big blind (Tetsuya Tsuchikawa) however, wanted more and re-popped an additional 1,000. 3 players called as one got out of the way.
The flop Q♣ J♥ J♦ was checked by everyone and so was the turn A♦. The river 7♠ arrived and the first three players checked before Tsuchikawa grabbed the opportunity to take down the pot with a bet of 2,000– he did after all folded.
87 players so far and blinds have climbed to 50/100 as we’re on Level 2 now.
We had 97 signing up for Day 1A yesterday so looks like we’re well on its way in breaking Day 1A’s mark or at least matching it. Poker enthusiasts have until the end of Level 4 to cough up the $2,700 buy-in and join the Main Event.
An under the gun player opened the action at 450 postflop 6♠ J♠ 6♦ and found a caller from the hijack (Nam Le) but saw a re-raise of 1,100 from the button player. UTG player got out of the way and Nam made the call.
The dealer turned 3♠ and Nam check-calls a 1,600 bet from the button player and both check the river 2♦
Button player shows 9♠ 10♠ for the flush as Nam mucked his hand.
