On a board of A♣ 8♠ 9♠ 2♥ 3♠ we saw Moses Saquin and his A♠ Q♥ take down the pot. Day 1B’s chip leader continues his good play and has now well over 140,000.
On a flop of K♦ 3♠ J♣ we saw Nam Le bet 1,100 against an opponent from UTG. The UTG player made the call.
Turn 4♠ arrived and another bet from Le this time to 5,000. Opponent once again called. Same same story on the river Q♥ as Le fired yet another 20,000 which the opponent called. Le shows K♣ J♠ and the other player mucked his hand. Le jumps to over 150,000 after this win.
Ian Brion at the big blind faced a raise of 1,000 from another big stack in Stephen Chidwick. The former wouldn’t allow the BB steal and he re-popped to a very healthy 8,600 more. Chidwick did not press the action and folded. Brion is now around the century mark.
Flop of 7♣ Q♣ 7♥ and Korean SJ Kim still fired 3,500 despite the fact that the opponent had x4 worth of chips than him. The big stacked opponent folded giving the nice pot to Kim, who stays alive with just around 25,000 in chips.
Moral of the story? Even short-stacked players can bully the big stacks.

With a very healthy pot in the middle, we caught up with a board of 4♠ Q♥ 6♥ 2♣ 3♥ with Vincent Rubiances and Sam Razavi battling for it.
Rubiances was first to act and fired around 10,000 to the middle. Razavi called and was shown the bad news as Rubiances had A♣ Q♣. Razavi mucked his hand and drops to below 30,000. Rubiances has now roughly 80,000 in chips.
Actually we’ll just call him Chane for that last name is too long for live reporting. We do know the man from Thailand won’t mind after getting a big one off PokerAce ambassador Joe Hachem.
With the board already showing 4♠ Q♥ 6♥ 2♣ 3♣ we saw the Thai bet a healthy one worth 11,400. Hachem took his sweet time before finally giving up the hand. After the win, Chan has now over 85,000 in chips.
No hands or action to report here but the fact that John Jay Magadan is out of the tourney. His starting stack was a good 50,000 when Day 2 began so we don’t know exactly how he lost it all but he did already.
On the way out of the tournament area he was telling friends that his losing hand was a Q♥ 9♥.
From the big blind, saw Jose Carlos Illescas fold to small blind JC Tran’s re-raise to 2,800. All others folded except for the button, Chane Kampanatsanyakorn, who made the call.
Now this is where it gets very interesting.
Tran bet 5,500 on the flop A♦ 6♣ Q♥ but saw a raise to 12,000 from Chane. Tran presses on and added 10,500 more for the re-raise…Chane almost immediately folds his hand.
Tran has now nearly 100,000 in chips.
