Hand for hand action with 37 remaining, Nguyen Thi Hien Hoa three-bet all in with her 61k remaining stack. Initial raiser Phua Tzai Wei called. Nguyen A K, Phua Q 2. The board ran dry for a good double up to the lady. 


Konstantin Pogodin crashes

Tan Wah Meng, the festival’s Head Hunter champion delivered one of the most crushing blows just three spots from the money. Up against Konstantin Pogodin, on a flop of 8 6 7, Pogodin was all in and was visibly disappointed seeing Tan’s 10 9 straight way ahead of his K K. The turn 10 and river 4 completed the board and we are down to 38 players.

Kit Kwan Kwok opened with a raise, Hoang Adi Thien called, Son Putin three-bet, Kit folded, Hoang shoved, and Putin with the snap-call.

The board ran 2 10 Q 7 5 sending Hoang out two spots before the money. 


Wei Cheng Yin shoves Tsuchikawa

Tetsuya Tsuchikawa had been having a steady day managing his stack however it just took a beating to eventually send him out in three hands. The first hand we picked up on a board 5 6 10 3. Sb Oeystein Nordii bet 25k onto a sizable pot already in the middle. Tsuchikawa raised to 75k. Wei Cheng Yin called and back to Nordii who joined in. On the river A, Nordii checked, Tsuchikawa bet 100k, Yin shoved, Nordii folded, and as did Tsuchikawa giving up the big bet and the big pot. Yin jumped to over 700k.

Next losing pot for Tsuchikawa was against Nguyen Tuan Anh. Tsuchikawa raised to 11k, Nguyen three-bet to 37.5k, Tsuchikawa called. On the flop 3 6 10, Nguyen c-bet and a quick fold from Tsuchikawa. With a short stack left to play with, Tsuchikawa was railed shortly after.

Huge pot at Table 1 sent Phong Lam crashing out of the tournament. Lam had built up an impressive stack throughout the day but fell to Paul Hong just moments ago. Action began with Yoichi Uesugi limping in, sb Hong raising to 19.5k, Lam three-bet to 55k, Uesugi folded, Hong shoved, and Lam snap-called.

The board ran A K 10 giving Hong a huge draw. The 2 turn was not one of them but the 7 completed the nut flush to boot out Lam and ship in a monster pot. Hong now up to 580k. 


Phua Tzai Wei talks bubble time

With the bubble nearing, Phua Tzai Wei was seen all in twice with a fairly heft stack and telling his opponent not to waste their big stacks. The first encounter had a big pot already brewed preflop and a board showing 6 3 6. Phua went all in sending Hoang Adi Thien tanking despite having a larger stack. During the time, Phua chatted up Hoang that the bubble was approaching. Hoang eventually folded. 

Several hands after, Phua did the same to Son Putin. Putin raised to 10.5k, Kit Kwan Kwok called, then Phua jammed for nearly 200k. While Putin tanked, Phua chatted up about the bubble round approaching. Putin eventually folded followed behind by Kit. 


Short stacks with uncalled shoves

As we approach the bubble round with 36 places paid and 44 remaining, many short stacks have been seen shoving but not getting called. 

At table 2, Nguyen Dun Giao Linh raised to 11k, Nguyen Van Canh called, Johannes Hoeld shoved his 100k stack, no callers. 

Same table above saw utg player raise to 12k, Choong Kian Weng on the big blind shoved with 104k remaining, no call. 

Long Lam moved all in with 98.5k and he too won the blinds and antes with no call arriving. 


Le Ngoc Khanh rails another

Just moments into the new level, Le Ngoc Khanh claimed another player’s stack. This time it was Hien Ngo taking the dive. With action folding to the button Khanh he min-raised and both blinds called, Vanness Kim and Ngo. At the flop K 10 6, Kim checked, Ngo shoved (105.5k), Khanh called, and Kim folded.

The turn 10 and river 2 were no help to Ngo to send him out.
