2X Qualifier Tran Hong Hai / 42,600 Taken out of Play |
In a rare moment, Day 2 has ended outside of the money. With 85 remaining at bagging time. Our chip leader is once again Nikita Luther with 954,000 in chips. We will have the official chip counts up in just a few minutes.
During the last hands called, Zarvan Tumboli put it all in with A♠ 3♠ and faced off against Steffen Endres with A♦ A♥. When the board ran out 8♥ 8♦ 4♣ 2♥ 5♥, Tumboli completed a straight to survive and double up.
Amanpreet Singh gambled it all with A♣ K♥ but could not improve against Tran Thai Ha’s J♣ J♦ with the board running 4♠ 10♥ 2♣ 8♣ 3♣. He was eliminated.
Catching the action on the river betting with a big pot in the middle and a board of 8♣ A♠ 4♠ 3♠ A♥, Natalie Teh was all in. Pete Yen Han Chen tanked then eventually made the call. Teh opened A-K and won the double up to Chen’s A-Q. Teh now up to 465k and Chen down to 305K.
Vivek Rughani was moved to Table #2 and instead of raking it in like he did at Table 11, he has been paying out. We caught a couple of his losing hands.
First hand, he was in a raised pot preflop with Tommy Luong. The flop ran 2♦ 6♦ J♠, Rughani bet 15k and Luong called. On the 9♦ turn, Rughani bet 30k and Luong called again. On the 2♣ river, both players checked. Rughani opened A♥ K♦ and was behind Luong’s 4♥ 4♠.
Next hand, Rughani called Shashank Jain’s all in. Rughani was ahead with 9♣ 9♠ against Jain’s Q♠ 9♠ however, the board ran 8♥ 5♠ 2♥ 10♦ Q♦ for a higher pair spiked on the river to award Jain the double up.
Min Dan has sent one of the decorated APT Main Event champions out of contention. Her victim, Hung Sheng “Shaq” Lin. His final hand saw him move all in with his short stack on the button and sb Min Dan called.
Shaq K♦ 6♣
Min Q♣ Q♥
The board came out very dry to send all the chips to Min. She now has 350k.
Action has been wild at table # 9, and just moments ago, one player bit the dust. Nguyen Hoang Bach raised preflop, sb Sajal Gopta three-bet, and Bach called. At the flop 8♦ 3♦ 6♦, Gopta led for 35k and Bach called. On the 2♣ turn, Gopta shoved sending Bach tanking for some time. After trying to get a read on Gopta, Bach called for his tournament life.
Gopta Q♠ Q♥
Bach J♦ J♥
Though Bach was behind, he did have a flush draw. The river K♥ was not the card he needed and was eliminated. Gopta climbed to 400k.
