Catching the action upon hearing celebration, Lee Kun Han cracked a player’s aces. Lee with K K, opponent A A, the board ran 4 10 6 5 K for a sick two outer spiked on the river. Lee now at 203k.

The prize pool is up and with 523 total entries, it tripled the advertised guarantee! Remaining players are now looking at an enormous pot of TWD 15,219,300 (~US$493,700). Only 10% of the field get paid which means 53 players. What everyone will be gunning for is the TWD 3,146,200 (~US$ 102,100) first prize money and of course the bragging rights as the first APT Taiwan Main Event champion.

Utg Pete Chen raised to 2100, cutoff Mark Gruendemann and bb Reoger Spets called. At the flop 9 7 A, Spets all in for his 6900 short stack and was instantly called by both Chen and Gruendemann. On the 4 turn, no bets. The river J, Chen led for 18k to generate a side pot, Gruendemann snap-called. Chen 9 9 set for the side pot against Gruendemann’s A J top two pair. Spets won the main pot with Q 6 flush.


Ong Kuan Keong rises to 118k

Having just won a pot preflop by three-betting, Ong Kuan Keong went on to win a beefier pot against Guo Dong. Action began with Ong raising to 2500, cutoff Guo three-bet to 7400, Ong called. On the flop 8 2 10, Ong checked to the aggressor Guo who c-bet 6500, Ong snap-called. On the J turn no bets landed and the river felted J?. Ong led for 14.7k, Guo called. Ong showed 3 3, Guo mucked. Ong up to 118k.


Manh Nguyen loses one Chan Kian Bing

One of the day’s entering chip leaders defended his bb on a raise to 2400 by Chan Kian Bing. Both players checked a flop J 3 2. On the turn 4, Nguyen bet 3300, was called. On the river Q it was back to checking. Nguyen showed 5 7 air, Chan won with A 3 pair.
