After another 8 rounds of play, Day 2 has ended! Only 45 remain. Sealing up the chip lead was Chi Jen Chu with 806k followed by Marc Rivera with 738k. We will have the official count soon so stand by for that. Congratulations to all the qualifiers. Just a reminder, once we resume tomorrow for Day 3, we will first break Table #6.
The pot had already ballooned to 85k when Marc Rivera laid out a huge 250k bet on a board of 6♥ J♥ 9♣ 7♣. Roger Spets tanked debating on whether or not to call for his tournament life with 152k behind. Spets called and was in a world of hurt seeing his A♦ J♣ dominated by Rivera’s A♠ A♥. The river 7♥ completed the board, Spets was eliminated. Rivera soared to over 700k.
Yun Sheng Sun had just doubled up through Phua Tzai Wei with his A-Q spiking a pair to avoid the rail against A-K. Soon after, he was all in again, this time on against Lau King Lun Alan. Action began with Lau raising to 15k, Sun three-bet to 40k, called by Lau. On the flop 8♦ K♥ 7♥ Lau checked, Sun bet 55k, called by Lau. On the 5♣, Lau checked, Sun shoved his 270k stack, Lau tanked then folded.
On a flop Q♦ A♣ 5♣ and 90k already in the middle, utg+1 Wang Tzu Wei had 40k out front, utg Tomoharu Furuya with 100k. We weren’t able to confirm the action but possibly a check-raise by Furuya. Wang tanked until the clock was called. He folded and showed A♦ K♠. Furuya returned the gesture and showed A♥ K♣. Wang was not happy to see the same hand. Furuya shipped it.
Catching the action only at the river betting, 6♣ 10♥ 10♠ 4♦ 7♦, bb Graeme Siow checked a pot of around 200k, button Chi Jen Chu bet 40k, Siow called. Chu showed 3♦ 3♥, Siow mucked.
We have entered the last level of the day. Getting a look at who may be leading the race. There are 50 remaining. Money bubble won’t be breached today with 29 paid.
