After the scheduled eight rounds of play, Day 2 completed with 45 players at bagging time. The top three players were all from India led by Zarvan Tumboli with a monstrous 1,151,000 stack, Ankit Wadhawan with 809,000, and decorated APT Main Event champion Shardul Parthasarathi with 726,000. During the last hands of the day, Mark Remnant was all in with A♥ K♠ and stayed ahead of Peter Kiem’s A♣ Q♠ to double up his short stack. Kiem dropped below 10 BB, Remnant clinbed to 180k.
Action opened with Zarvan Tumboli raising to 15k, Chien Than three-bet to 46k, Nguyen Ngoc Dai was all in for 28k, back to Tumboli who four-bet to 100k. Than tanked using up three time banks then folded. Tumboli A♣ Q♣, Nguyen 3♣ 3♠, the board ran 3♥ 10♦ 8♦ 6♥ J♥ for a winning set to Nguyen to triple up.
On a completed board A♠ 2♦ J♣ 2♠ 8♣ and 260k pot weighing down the middle, Chien Than bet 110k. Ankit Wadhawan tank-raised to 285k, Thien called and showed 5♠ 2♥ trips, Wadhawan was way ahead with J♥ J♠ full house. Wadhawan climbed to 830k.
Shardul Parthasarathi raised to 14k, down the orbit button Tran Nam Trung three-bet to 38k, Parthasarathi called. On the flop Q♥ 9♣ 8♦, both players checked for a free look at the turn 10♥. Tran bet 55k, Parthasarathi smooth-called. On the river 9♥, check again by Parthasarathi, Tran fired 120k, Parthasarathi tank-jammed for 346k. Tran folded his stake on the massive pot. He dropped to 240k, Parthasarathi over 750k.
Three way pot to 54k and flop spread A♥ 9♦ 2♣. Utg Zarvan Tumbolibet 23k, only Chien Than called. On the turn 6♥ and river 3♦, no bets came. Tumboli had K♥ J♥, Than won it with 10♣ 10♦.
End of the line for Kanchan Sharma who three-bet jammed with pocket Nines only to run into big stacked Zarvan Tumboli’s pocket Jacks. No help arrived for Sharma. Tumboli shipped it and climbed to 970k.
Another big clash between Chien Than and Nguyen Van Sang to switch the counts. Action opened with Than raising to 11k and button Nguyen making the call. On the flop 7♠ 9♣ Q♣, Thien checked, Nguyen bet 15k, Thien called. On the turn 7♣, same action with Thien check-calling 20k. The river 8♥, Than checked, Nguyen fired 150k, Than jammed 294k, Nguyen called.
Nguyen 5♣ 6♣ flush
Than 10♣ 8♣ higher flush
Than back up to 600k, Nguyen dropped to 285k.
Tran Nam Trung picked up a good pile of chips after sending Siddarth Singhvi out of the running. It was all in preflop with Singhiv 10♠ 10♦ and Tran dominating with K♠ K♥. No bad beats on the board. Tran climbed to 460k.
