Final Day of the APT Main Event begins at 1pm

Welcome to the Final Day of the APT Main Event!

After three days of action, we are down the the final 8 players here at the DNA Star Vegas in Poipet, Cambodia. The Main Event will kick off at 1pm for the last battle to the championship title. The past days saw Malaysia’s Choong Kian Weng top Day 1A and Hong Kong’s Alan King Lun Lau ahead in Day 1B.

At yesterday’s Day 2, the 27 remaining players from the combined starting flights returned to the felt. After a tough battle to the final 8, many notables fell including past APT Main Event champions Linh Tran and Weng. For Lau, he navigated his way into the unofficial final table of ten but was booted out of the running by today’s entering chip leader Aik Chuan from Malaysia.

Also in the lineup is one of the hottest running players at the series, China’s Hailong Huang. Huang currently leads the APT Player of the Series race with two titles and 4 cashes. For today, his stack will need a major pick up to be in contention against the leaders. Japanese pro Tetsuya Tsuchikawa is also in the mix. He opened the series up by bagging the Welcome Event. After all his years in the APT circuit, he is still on the hunt for that first APT Main Event championship title.

Today the final 8 players will resume at Level 14; blinds are at 1000-2000 ante 300 with just over 17 minutes left in the round. The average stack is 156,263. Only five players will reach the money round with the first payout at USD 4,370 while the eventual winner will pocket USD 19,380.

Here are the Final 8 players by table seat:
