Post-Dinner Bust Out Courtesy of Kiwi Brent Schlaadt

Brent Schlaadt of New Zealand opened the action pre-flop with a 1,325 bet but an opponent sitting beside him made it 3,500, which the Kiwi easily called.

Schlaadt fired another 6,000 on the flop 7 8 2 and his opponent responded by shoving his stack. Schlaadt tabled his A 8 and made the call only to be shown the bad news by the opponent’s pocket queens.

No change on the turn 10 but it did give the New Zealander additional outs– a diamond would give him a runner-runner flush. No diamond on the river but it was an 8 for trips– good enough to beat the ladies of the opponent, who couldn’t believe at the turn of events.

Schlaadt climbed to around 35,000 after the hand.
