Action folded to the small blind Cuong Huynh who opened, big blind Terry Nguyen jammed his healthy 110k stack, to his surprise Huynh snap called. Nguyen had A-K, Huynh with pocket kings, no help arrived for Nguyen to send him out of the running. Huynh soared to over 300K.
Three way action saw a raised pot preflop to 17.4k, the flop ran A♠ 2♣ J♠. Nguyen Duy c-bet 8500, cutoff called, and big blind Sylvain Fossard check-called. On the turn 9♥, Duy fired 22k, cutoff folded, Fossard check-called again. On the river 9♠, check again by Fossard, Duy bet 45k, Fossard called and showed K♠ 8♠ nut flush to best Duy’s A♦ Q♠ two pair. Fossard climbed to 280k and Duy dropped to 4 BB.
Every time we pass by Table 6 it seems as if APT champion Cao Ngoc Anh’s stack has fattened up. We dropped by again and sure enough he was engaged in a big pot against Artem Fedula. With a board showing 8♥ K♣ A♣ 8♣ and around 30k in the middle, mid position Cao led for 14k, cutoff Fedula jammed an added 50.2k, Cao tank called. Fedula opened A♦ 2♦ two pair, Cao had 3♣ 4♣ flush, and with the river K♠, Fedula busted while Cao zoomed to over 320k.
At a separate table, Brandon Mifsud sent Aigars Plivcs packing. Mifsud had pocket kings, Plivcs K-7 suited, both hit the board with the last king turning up. With the river both sevens, it was full house over full house. Mifsud shipped it and now has around 200k.
Phan Nam opened for 4200, Nguyen Gia Lam jammed, Nam called. The aggressor Nguyen showed J♠ 10♠, Nam had better A♠ Q♠, but with the board running 7♣ 6♠ 4♦ J♥ 2♠, it was a double up to Nguyen to over 105K. Nam dropped to 17.7k, slightly over 8 BB.
A couple of showdowns at Table 11. Two short stacks were all in with Jack Lee looking to sweep. When the board spread 3♥ 9♠ 2♠ 5♥ A♦, Lee did just that with 10♥ 10♦ winning over 8♠ 7♠ and J♠ 8♦. Two hands later, Pongkhun Busmongkhon three-bet jammed his 25k stack, initial raiser / Head Hunter champion Satoshi Kuriga called. Busmongkhon opened A♥ 8♦, Kuriga 9♦ 9♠, the flop came 9♥ 3♦ Q♣ for a commanding set to Kuriga, but with the turn J♠ and river 10♥, Busmongkhon landed a runner runner straight to survive. He doubled up to 50K, Kuriga dropped to 90K.
Terry Nguyen three bet all in with J♠ J♦ and got called by initial raiser Benjamin Schoepfer with 10♣ 10♥. When the flop ran 10♠ 8♥ Q♣, Schoepfer improved to a set for a bit of sweat to Nguyen. Schoepfer stayed ahead on the 2♦ turn then luck arrived the river with 9♥ as one of Nguyen’s much needed six outs. He doubled up to 80k.
It’s a grind here at the Main Event with 117 players remaining. Super High Roller champion Florencio Campomanes has more than doubled his stack since the start of day. He is now sitting with around 200K. Our current chip leader is Ngo Minh Tien who has more than tripled his arsenal to 300k.
