Unfortunately we only caught the action on the turn 3♣ Q♣ 3♥ 8♠ with a hefty pot brewing in the middle. Jae Hyun Lim checked on the small blind, Marvin Rettenmaier bet 76k, and Lim called. On the 7♣ river, Lim was quickly all in sending Rettenmaier tanking. The clock was eventually called and as it ticked down, he reluctantly called for his tournament life. Lim opened 10♣ 9♣ flush to eliminate Rettenmaier with A♣ A♠. Lim now back up to 1M.
Nehmee Alegado moved all in with his remaining 250k and small blind Feng Zhao called. Action was on the big blind Steffen Endres who announced all in as well with his enormous stack. Zhao folded.
Endres A♥ K♥
Alegado 6♣ 6♦
The board ran 7♦ A♠ 10♥ 7♣ 2♠ to end Alegado’s run in 13th place. Endres slides into second rank with 1.45M.
After shipping in all of Yuka Asaka’s chips, Feng Zhao attempted to do the same to Sun Tan with 10♠ 10♦ against Tan’s Q♥ 8♣. The board ran well for Tan though J♠ Q♦ J♥ 7♥ K♦ and Zhao paid the small double up. Tan up to 350k.
Feng Zhao raised from cutoff and big blind Yuka Asaka called. At the flop J♥ 4♣ 5♠, Asaka check-called Zhao’s c-bet. On the 7♠ turn, she checked again, Zhao bet 105k, and this time Asaka opted to shove her massive stack. Zhao snap called.
Asaka A♣ 9♣ bluff
Zhao 6♣ 8♣ straight
Asaka was drawing dead and busted in 14th place. Zhao zoomed to 1.3M and is now the second in chips to leader Lim Yohwan.
Jae Hyun Lim is back up to 520k after shipping in a double up through Bobby Zhang. Lim was all in with J-J and Zhang with A-Q. The board further improved Lim to a full house J-5-8-4-8 . Zhang dropped to 450k.
Next to fall was Oystein Nordii with K-8 losing to Feng Zhao’s A-K on a board that ran A♦ 6♠ 7♦ 9♥ K♣.
Nehmee Alegado entered Day 3 running third in the count but seemed to be having a much harder time earning chips in this elimination round. He dropped to around 170k which was well below average and took a stand with K♦ Q♦. He managed to double up with the board running K♣ 7♥ 5♦ 8♦ J♠ to defeat Oystein Nordii’s 9♥ 9♠.
Hung Sheng Lin has been dealt his last hand of the day pushing all in with A-10 but failing to improve against Si Yang Phua’s 6-6. He finished in 16th place.
Masatoshi Tanaka seems to be the only one that has survived against the chip leader. Lim Yohwan raised to 36k, Tanaka shoved with 168k total, and Yohwan called.
Tanaka J♦ J♥
Yohwan Q♦ 10♥
No bad beat arrived and Tanaka doubled up to 375k.
